At Your Dream Body, we'll sculpt your dream body using a combination of resistance training, light aerobic training, and proper nutrition. Together, these three components will transform both your body and your mind! Routine exercise and a healthy diet are the key to building a better body, but they also have tremendous neurological benefits and can help stave off depression and anxiety while improving self-esteem and confidence. Unlike other trainers, we'll teach you the importance of each exercise, along with what muscle or muscle groups are involved in the movement. We'll also teach you the importance of proper nutrition and the function of each macro nutrient such as fat, carbohydrates, and protein. Our goal is to pass on knowledge you can carry with you for a lifetime.
Our resistance training emphasizes strength and power, which are essential in countering age-related functional decline. As we age, we lose the skeletal muscle that is so critical to our indepenence. This progressive loss of muscle mass and strength is called "sarcopenia," and can be combated with resistance training using weights or bands. Do you want to struggle just to stand or walk in your twilight years? Of course not, which is why adding resistance training to your life is so important. It's never too late to start, and your body will thank you in the years to come! Resistance training also strengthens your bones by increasing bone mineral density, reducing the risk of fractures or broken bones. Additionally, resistance training builds lean muscle mass, which burns calories throughout the day and improves your overall metabolism. The benefits of resistance training are innumerable, so what are you waiting for?
Not only can aerobic training (such as walking, jogging, running, cycling, swimming, and dancing) help you shed unwanted body fat, it also reduces the risk of heart and metabolic disease. It can also lower your blood pressure, strengthen your heart, increase stamina, ward off illnesses, improve arterial function, and positively impact your mood. Aerobic training boasts a large list of benefits, and should be incorporated into every training program. However, despite popular belief, aerobic training doesn't need to be performed at a high intensity to yield benefits. A brisk 15-20 minute walk is often enough to improve your metabolism and long-term health if performed regularly. Unless a higher intensity is requested, we utilize low to moderate intensity aerobic training in conjunction with resistance training to help reshape your body.
What you put into your body not only impacts your physical health, it impacts your mental health as well. Your gut microbiome plays a huge role in your overall wellbeing, so keeping it healthy via proper diet is of utmost importance. "You are what you eat" is an appropriate adage we can apply here. If your diet consists of garbage, there's a good chance you're going to look and feel like garbage. Conversely, if your diet is nutritionally sound, you're going to look and feel much better! Avoiding foods high in saturated and trans fats, staying away from processed foods, and limiting your daily sugar intake are three ways to quickly see and feel improvements in your body and mind. Let us teach you how to eat right with nutritionally-balanced meals and snacks that will melt away body fat while helping your overall mood. Eating healthy doesn't mean eating bland salads day in and day out. We'll introduce you to a wide variety of delicious low-calorie food and drink options that will help you acheive your dream body!
At Your Dream Body, we believe in workouts that are challenging yet fun! A common mistake among trainers is pushing clients too hard, too fast. Let's face it: if you have a miserable time, why would you want to come back? Our goal isn't to punish you during your first workout, or any workout for that matter. We'll ease you into a program that gradual increases in intensity, all while keeping it lighthearted and fun. We want you to look forward to your workout, not dread it. We'll teach you proper form and technique, which reduces the risk for injury while increasing performance and progress. We'll also teach you what muscle or muscle group each exercise targets, and how it can benefit your everyday life. Let's work together to get you the body you've been dreaming of!
